James Neocleous

James joined Hannaford Turner as an Associate in 2021 having previously worked at both international and smaller boutique law firms. James’ practice is primarily focussed on superyacht and other luxury asset and encompasses a broad range of contentious and transactional matters.

On the transactional side, James regularly advises UHNW owners and their family offices and is actively involved with business jet  and superyacht sale and purchase work, new build yacht constructions (30m to 118m+), refit and finance work as well as advising on superyacht ownership structures, registration, berth sale and purchases and crew employment matters.

On the contentious side, James has dealt with a broad range of disputes, predominantly in arbitration under LMAA rules and also LCIA and ICC institutional rules. James has advised clients on a variety of issues relating to superyacht paint disputes, charter disputes, crew employment, brokerage commission and warranty disputes as well as other commercial matters.
